Captchas


Peter Rozovsky alerted me to this interesting piece on "Captchas", so I thought I'd link to it here .

Deciphering  this stuff can apparently only get harder...

    It's a race between humans and machines, all right. I quite liked the suggestion that a good verification word must steike a balance: too difficut for machines, not too difficult for humans. It's a nerve-wracking concept, I'd say.

    Well, we may as well own them until that line is crossed and they own us. It may already have happened, but we can live in denial for awhile longer...
